BRUSH  REMOVAL

Aurora Township Highway Department will pick up brush in the unincorporated areas the week of April 19th.  The Township has not been directed by any outside agency to offer these services and the Township is not reimbursed in any way for the cost of supplying these services.  We ask for your cooperation in following these guidelines.

We have a Brush Chipper designed to mulch limbs and branches that do not qualify as yard waste.  Our equipment is not designed to grind small twigs and evergreen trimmings.  Brush should be placed with all cut ends in the same direction, neatly stacked at the edge of the road.  If it is baggable, it is considered YARD WASTE and should therefore be scheduled to be picked up by your waste hauler.

Have brush at curbside by 7:00 A.M. on Monday, April 19.  Brush piles will be inventoried on the 19th  - if not on that complied list, it will NOT be scheduled for pick up.  We will be going through the Township streets that week.

We will accept limbs up to 6” in diameter.  They should be laid as neatly as possible with butt ends toward the street and parallel to each other.  Do not cut into short pieces.  Long branches work best.  Keep stacking to a minimum.  Spread the stack out.  Unacceptable piles will be left with a note of explanation.

Anything over 6” in diameter should be cut into fireplace length logs and used as such.
Please do hide thorny tree branches (such as Olive or Washington Hawthorne Trees) inside piles.  They need special care.  If mishandled, they will cause injury.

MOSQUITO  ABATEMENT

Residents in the unincorporated areas of Aurora Township who wish to know when spraying will be done in their neighborhood may do so by either contacting Clarke Mosquito Control here or by calling them at 1-800-323-5727.
